The primary objective of the Veterinary Systems Consultant is to carry out all sales and training responsibilities as required for the sale and placement of IDEXX Cornerstone Practice Management System software and integration capabilities, consistent with IDEXX values and principles.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Sell Cornerstone Practice Management System software, including the necessary hardware, software, services, and lab instruments for integration, within assigned territory.
  • Achieve quarterly sales goals on the IDEXX Cornerstone product line.
  • Support and train agency sales representatives to qualify, develop, and close prospects in geographical territory.
  • Initiate and coordinate installation and training of newly placed Cornerstone Practice Management System software.
  • Maintain sales forecast and territory plan with agency management and representatives within the geographical territory.
  • Manage time, territory, expenses and agency relations for optimal return.
  • All aspects of sales administration.
  • Attend trade shows and other educational commitments.
  • Present IDEXX values to customers in a professional manner; including understanding the business, customers, technology, operations and processes.
  • Achieve and maintain technical knowledge of Cornerstone products and services and competition.
  • Communicate competitive issues to the ICS team.
  • Define and verify customer needs and expectations. Communicate customer needs/issues to CFO/ICS marketing and management. 
  • Participate as a team member: included, but not limited to: CFO/ICS management, agency management and representatives, and other Cornerstone product consultants.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION: BA/BS degree in business or scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.

EXPERIENCE: 3 to 5 years of sales experience; veterinary practice management software and equipment sales experience preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must possess a passion for business, drive, and initiative.
  • Must be professionally mature, and be able to adapt to an independent and team-oriented environment.
  • General business knowledge and valid drivers license.
  • Multi-tasking, creativity, technical aptitude, proven track record, computer skills, and knowledge of veterinary diagnostics preferred.
  • Ability to coach, train, and develop people as it relates to sales performance, goals and objectives.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift 50 pounds. Must also have ability to drive a vehicle and the mobility to travel into multiple veterinary clinics daily

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Extensive overnight travel required; exposure to veterinary clinics; some weekends; and extensive car and air travel.
